In 1865, Lewis Carroll compiled a novel about about a story of a little girl, Alice, who falls down a rabbit hole in to a fantasy world. The book was called Alice’s Adventures In Wonderland, and was and is still a huge hit amongst Children and adults.
The first entire printed version sold out instantly. Huge admirers at the time were Queen Victoria and Oscar Wilde. Since then the book has never ran out of print and has been translated in to 125 languages.
This book introduces us to some strange yet legendary characters that have captivated our imaginations for generations. From the Queen of Hearts to the Mad Hatter, The Caterpillar to White Rabbits and Hares, this story had it all, including the famous Tea-Party scene which is weird and wonderful and also hilarious.
The book also has some great poems from the nonsense genre, crazy riddles and excellent illustrations by John Tenniel. It also went on to inspire countless Film and TV adaptations, comics and other books. The animated 1951 Walt Disney Alice In Wonderland is a popular and famous version, much loved world wide.
In 2010, Tim Burton made The Alice In Wonderland 3D version of the book which starred Johnny deep as The Mad Hatter, Helena Bonham Carter as The Red Queen, Ann Hathaway as The White Queen and Mia Wasikowska As Alice and was a box office success.
The story of this book will never grow old and is a must for any family household, or for anybody really.
